Here's the final result and it's the best finish I've produced to date. Happy camper and I'll be using Assilex and Buflex from now on.

Endurovar over SilverTip epoxy, sanded with Assilex 800, 1000, 1200, & 1500 and Buflex 2000 & 2500, buffed with Menzerna P204 & P175, and polished with Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #10......

THats an incredibly beautiful finish J. Thanks for sharing that information and your schedule.
I'm loading the breach and fixin' to pull the ordering trigger.
How long would you estimate it would take for the next one?
Who did you order from?

I got the Assilex and Buflex kits through Amazon.

I'm not sure what you are asking about how long it would take for the next one.

Btw, based on your comments about the Tolecut for spot repairs, I got a kit and used it today to get rid of a couple nibs and to level a drop fill and it worked beautifully.

I was asking how long it would take to flat sand your next guitar, pre-buffer, with the Eagle Abrasives. I know you did a lot of experimental back and forth on the current topic- hence "next one" .

Glad to hear the Tolecut worked for you too bliss

THanks Carl, I actually ordered a sampler of the Buffex yesterday (I already has a sample of S A).

If I repeated what I did this time (800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500), I think I could get through those steps in about 5 or 6 hours at an easy pace.

I brush my finish on and the finish doesn't self-level as much as it would if sprayed on so I think the first round of sanding to level the finish would take less time for a sprayed-on finish.

I could shorten the time by starting with a lower grit since that would cut faster than the 800. I went with the 800 this time with the idea that scratches would be finer than if I used a lower grit, but I think it added a fair amount of time. Next time I'll start with a lower grit and see how it goes.
